Clinton Public Schools and Covid-19

Join Superintendent Tyler Bridges and Dr Robert Blakeburn MD as they talk through the changes that Clinton Public Schools with be undertaking to keep families safe and healthy.

What is the Corona Virus?

Yes, this virus is a nasty one. It is deadly, particularly to older patients and highly contagious. This is a disease that requires social distancing and extreme precautions to slow down and as Dr. Blakeburn says “Flatten the Curve”. It is crucial that we stay calm, follow the guidelines given to us by the Federal/Sate Governments and the CDC. Stay home, wash your hands, and remain calm. We can get through this together.

Move as many appointments as possible to an online meeting.

While we are social distancing it’s important to realize that life must go on eventually. Find small things in your routine to help keep some semblance of normalcy for you and your family.

Where you can, move appointments or even play-dates to an online setting such as Facetime or Skype. If you have a well check or routine visit to our office, KEEP THE APPOINTMENT, we will simply move it to a TeleVisit.

Q+A with Doctor Blakeburn

Does cold weather kill the virus? Do Mosquitoes transfer the virus? How much longer will we be in quarantine???

Your questions answered by your family physician Dr. Blakeburn.

Mental Health and Covid-19.. How do we cope with all the Stress?

Acknowledge that this is hard.. If you have Mental Health Issues before the stress could be enhancing symptoms and reducing your coping mechanisms if they include other people or being out and about. It’s okay to be struggling! Do what you can to reach out to loved ones, break out any coping skills you’ve learned and try to tailor them to our curent quarantine guidelines, and if you need to, please, please, please use the Suicide Hotline as a resource.

Call us to start or adjust treatment if you need. We are doing both tele-visits and practicing all social distancing/ face mask/ sanitation guidelines for our in person appointments. 580.323.2700

I Already HAD the Corona Virus- DEBUNKED

The truth is last winter was a hard flu season, and there were also several other little winter bugs that went around. However, they were NOT the Corona Virus. You are NOT immune if you had a weird bug within the last few months and to assume you are immune is dangerous. Continue to keep your distance and wash, wash, wash your hands!

What is Social Distancing and why is it Important?

Do you keep hearing the phrase Social Distancing?

That’s because it is ESSENTIAL in keeping this Pandemic under control. If you aren’t exposed to this virus, you can’t get it, and you can’t pass it on to your more susceptible friends and family members. Is we slow this virus, our hospitals will have enough resources to treat more patients and therefore less people will die. Please move all essential meetings for work or even Doctor’s visits with our Clinic to an online setting and stay home.

Should you be wearing protective gear right now?

Yes! Cloth masks are very helpful in preventing water droplets from getting to your mouth and nose. Covid-19 is droplet borne, and if we can block large infected droplets from entering our system, we can prevent the spread! Please wear masks in public.

Gloves? They aren’t magical, but they do serve a purpose in preventing cross contamination. Watch the video for more information on how to properly use your protective equipment.

Oklahoma is open! What do we do now?

Oklahoma has opened businesses, what do we do now?

We need to keep doing the same things: social distancing, masks in public, and sanitizing surfaces as often as we can are all helpful things to help slow the spread of the virus.
